- Palladium is used for chemical processes that need a hydrogen exchange with two reactants.
- Palladium (II) acetate and Palladium (II) chloride is used as a catalyst. Ethanol is produced from palladium catalysts and is done with oxidized ethane. The palladium catalysts are also used in the production of polyester.
- Palladium is used in electronics such as computers to create multi-layer ceramic capacitors as well as hybrid integrated circuits. While each of these computer components contain only a small amount of a gram of palladium, many are created which leads to massive consumption of palladium.
